The Mara Poser table has a Beech laminate top with chrome plated leg and feet. Alternatively the Glass Poser Tables are available with clear or black glass, which is tempered for safety, and a weighted trumpet base. All of the tabletops are 700 mm. Diameter.

The standard upholstery cover for the Lara swivel stools and the Dalton stools is black faux leather. However, we can recover the seats in different colours to match with a corporate colour scheme if desired (for a small extra cost.)

Bistro Stool

We also have a wide variety of other barstools – either fixed Leg like the Bistro or gas lift (adjustable) height like the Matilda, Casanova, Anna etc. And there are folding stools in two seat heights, 80 cm –  for use at a Poser table or a drinks bar – and 65 cm – for use at a standard kitchen worktop.

Black leather is ever popular and the biggest seller, however both the Cream and Brown have faithful followers.

The colour of the Cream Leather on a Casanova Gas Lift Stool is similar to the colour of Magnolia Paint.

    The Brown leather is a dark Brown, with a slight hint of red, quite similar to the colour of original Nescafe or Maxwell House instant coffee.

 Easy to Clean                                                                                                                            As the leather upholstery is bonded, it has a sealed, smooth finish. So it is easy to keep the Casanova Gas Lift Stool clean with a simple wipe from a damp cloth. Perhaps a small quantity of detergent will help with greasy marks.

Where can you use the Casanova Gas Lift Stool?                                          The Gas Lift, Height Adjustment, operation means that the Casanova Gas Lift Stool is suitable for use at many different heights of worktop. It can be used at:-

• A standard dining table, although it is slightly higher than a standard chair, so we would not recommend it for everyday use. However at Christmas time and other party times, when all of the extended family are sitting around the dining table, the extra seat can be useful for a younger child, who may need a raised seat anyway.
• A standard breakfast bar, which is level with the remaining worktops in the kitchen.
• A raised breakfast bar or a drinks bar or a high bar (poseur) table.

 Operating the Gas Lift, Height Adjustment.                                                             The gas lift is operated by a lever underneath the seat.  If you’re sitting on the seat and you pull the lever up firmly, then the seat drops down until it reaches the lowest position. Release the lever at any point and the seat will stay at that height. When there is no weight on the seat and you lift the lever then the seat rises up to the maximum position. Release the lever at any point and the seat will stop at that point.  This means that the Casanova Gas Lift Stool can be adjusted quickly and easily to suit different worktops as well as tall and small people.

 Suitable for left handed people.                                                                           Normally the gas lift lever is situated underneath the right-hand side of the seat, when you’re sitting on it. This is very convenient for right-handed people, however one clever factor with the Casanova Gas Lift Stool is that the gas lift lever can be situated under the left-hand side of the seat for those who are left-handed. This is done very simply, at the time of assembly, by fitting the gas lift column back to front under the seat and then turning the footrest through 180 degrees so that it faces the front and there you have it – a Left Handed Casanova Gas Lift Stool !

Finishes for the Trumpet Base.                                                                                       The standard finish for the trumpet base on the Casanova Gas Lift Stool is mirror chrome. However, many kitchens have stainless steel fittings and equipment, like fridges, ovens, sinks etc. In addition, often handles of cupboards or doors are stainless steel. With that in mind we can also offer a brushed chrome finish for the trumpet base, as an optional extra. This matches more closely with any stainless steel items and it has proved very popular over the years. Finally, we also offer the trumpet base finished in a matte black, for those would prefer a slightly different look. This makes the Casanova Gas Lift Stool very versatile.

 Padded Seat & Back.                                                                                                                  The padded leather seat on the Casanova Gas Lift Stool is a generous size, for comfort. The front edge of the seat curves downwards, so that there is no sharp edge that could catch under your thighs. The leather back is shaped, to give good lumbar support, and also high, to give good general support to your back.

 Fully Assembled or Self Assembly.                                                                               The Casanova Gas Lift Stool is normally supplied for simple self assembly. However, we can supply it fully assembled, if you prefer, for a small extra charge. We do reserve the right to refuse assembled orders at very busy times, like Christmas, when we are rushing to ship out all of the orders. In addition, we do advise that there may be an extra delay of one day in the shipping time, because it is much slower to assemble and pack the Casanova Gas Lift Stool when it is fully assembled.

The Snella gas lift stool was extremely popular, because it was

Sadly the original Italian manufacturers of this gas lift stool went into liquidation in the spring of 2011.

 However we are delighted to advise that a new Italian company is manufacturing a very similar stool and chair now. These are called the Snella Mark 2 stool and the Snella Mark 2 chair.

The dimensions for the Snella Mark 2 stool are very similar to those for the original stool:-

Six colours of leather for Snella Stools & Chairs

 These Snella Mark 2 stools and chairs are available in six separate colours of real leather upholstery – Cream, Black, White, Grey, Burgundy or Dark Brown. 

Brushed chrome base for Snella Stools

 The original Snella gas lift stool was supplied only with a mirror chrome square cover plate over the weighted base. The Snella Mark 2 stool is available with, not only a mirror chrome cover plate, but also a brushed chrome cover plate (as an optional extra.) The vertical gas lift column and the footrest are always supplied with the standard mirror chrome finish, because that finish is the most resistant to wear and scuffing caused by the rise and fall movement and feet resting on the footrest.

 The brushed chrome finish of the cover plate will match more closely with stainless steel kitchen equipment like ovens, fridges, toasters, etc. We are expecting that the demand for the brushed chrome finish will be higher than the demand for the mirror chrome finish. 

There is a small first shipment of Snella Mark 2 barstools being delivered to our warehouse about 12^th  August. Most of this delivery has been sold already. There is a further shipment scheduled for delivery about the end of September. This will include Snella Mark 2 stools and chairs. 

The Snella Mark 2 stools give the finishing touches to a quality kitchen installation. The Snella Mark 2 chairs are ideal for an open plan layout with a kitchen/dining area, because they match the style of the stools and they can be supplied in the same colours of leather.

Fixed Height or Adjustable Height Barstools

Firstly there are fixed height barstools or adjustable height barstools.

Dedalo Fixed Height Stool

      1. Fixed Height Barstools are normally available  with the seat height of about 65 cm or about 80 cm. The ones at 65 cm seat height are designed for use at a breakfast bar or a kitchen counter. The barstools at 80 cm seat height are designed for use at a drinks bar, or a bar (poseur) table or a raised breakfast bar.

Snella Mk2 Gas Lift Stool

2. Adjustable Height Barstools (also called Gas Lift Barstools) normally adjust in seat height from about 55 cm at the lowest to about 80 cm at the highest. (Naturally this varies from one model to another.) Gas Lift Barstools can be used at almost any height of countertop, also the seats swivel freely through 360 degrees. This makes them very versatile.

Secondly the legs of the bar stools are made from different materials – Normally Wood or Steel or Aluminium

Roslin Bar Stool

1. Wood Barstool legs are normally offered in a range of hardwood timbers like Beech, Oak or Ash. However there are some barstools available in Pine timber as well. Pine is a softwood so the barstools are not as strong, but it is a cheaper timber so they are often sold at a lower price. We do not recommend Pine frame barstools for use in busy areas like commercial bars, where the useage is higher, because they are not strong enough to withstand the use and abuse.

2. Steel Barstool legs normally have a chrome plated finish. However some are available with a powder coated epoxy finish, which is baked on like the paint on a car. With some Gas Lift bar stools, the base on the floor can be finished in a brushed or satin chrome finish. This matches better with stainless steel kitchen appliances. (Please ask if you want more information regarding this.)

 3. Aluminium Barstool legs are normally left with a matt silver finish. Aluminium legs have two advantages – they are lighter in weight than steel legs and they do not rust if they get wet, so they can be used for outside furniture.

Thirdly, there are so many different styles of legs – Centre pedestal, 4 leg and either 2 or 3 leg.

Tamago Gas Lift Stool

1. Centre Pedestal Barstools  – Gas Lift centre pedestal stools are certainly the most popular type with many varieties and considerable demand. Not only do they swivel but they also adjust in height so that they are always at the correct seat height for your needs. They are almost all steel with a chrome plated finish. However there are also some fixed height centre pedestal stools, which swivel but do not adjust in height. Once again these are normally steel, but there are some wood frame centre pedestal barstools.

2. Four Leg Barstools . The second most popular type is barstools with four legs. These can be either wood or steel or aluminium. These are all fixed height.  They are normally available at seat heights of about 80 cm (for use at Drinks Bars or High Bar (Poseur)  Tables or at raised Breakfast Bars.) or about 65 cm seat height (for use at standard breakfast bars, where the worktop is level with the kitchen sink.) One reason for their popularity is that they tend to be very stable and strong.

3. Two or Three leg Barstools . There is a selection of different stylish and funky barstools with either two legs or three legs. Some of these have very interesting and unusual designs,
but the demand for them is normally quite small, which is unfortunate because they tend to break away from the humdrum norm with stylish design, which is like a breath of fresh air.

We are launching a range of wood stools, chairs and tables over the next few days. Watch for the products appearing on our website as we load them.

 This is an exciting new range consisting of Wood Stools, Wood Chairs and Wood Tables, manufactured in Oak, Beech and Pine. The furniture is strong and well made. It is suitable for contract use as well as domestic use.

Callander Bar Stool

 Some of the wood stools, like the Callander stools, have matching chairs. The Seats can be solid wood to match or padded and upholstered.  Some chairs can have woven rush seats, but this option is not available for the stools. 

 Frame finishes for the wood stools, chairs and tables

 The wood stools and chair frames  can have a natural matt lacquer finish; alternatively, they can be painted cream or be left in the raw for painting or staining by others. For larger quantities it is possible to stain the frames to a selection of colours. The seats can be solid wood or padded. The chairs can also be supplied with woven rush seat, but this is not available for the wood stools.
