Please watch this short video showing a recent project with Doris P Bar Stools and Matching Chairs.
Doris Bar stool Very Comfortable
The Doris P Bar stool is incredibly comfortable. It is like a high Tub Chair. Once you have sat on a Doris Bar stool, you will find that very few other bar stools come close to it for comfort. (Except some of the others in our range.) The back gives you great support and it envelopes you in a warm embrace. The seat is a generous size and well padded. You could sit comfortably in a Doris Bar stool all day long if you wanted.
Wide Variety of Upholstery covers
Doris Bar Stools can be upholstered with any of the following:
- 30 Shades of Real Leather - Category C
- 27 Shades of Eco Leather (A High-Quality Man-Made Leather Look-Alike): Category A
- Also, various fabric ranges are available on request.
In our opinion, the woven fabrics are not so practical because they are not so resistant to spills and stains.
Hence, we do not feature these fabrics on our website. However, if you want Doris P Bar stools upholstered in one of the standard woven fabrics or in your own fabric (as long as it is suitable and fire retardant), then please ask for more information.

Doris Stools are proving so popular that they are being offered with six different bases now. Base No. 53 was the original one, so it is shown in all of the pictures but see the other bases below:-
N.B Extra finishes for the Adjustable Stool Bases have been added recently.
Here is the full list of available finishes for every base; -
Mirror Chrome or Black Chrome or Brushed Steel. Alternatively
Black or Charcoal or Chocolate Brown or Gold or Nickel Satin (Silver) EPC Finish and finally
Bright Gold Plated or Brushed Gold Plated for those with larger budgets.
EPC means Epoxy Powder Coated. This hard, Matt Finish is applied to the steel, then baked in an oven.
The Nickel Satin Finish is a Matt Silver colour
The Gold Plated Finishes use Real Gold, so they are rather expensive. There is an alternative. By choosing Gold EPC finish, you will get a matt Gold Finish at a significantly lower price.
You can choose the base and the finish that you want by clicking the "Base Style and Finish" button, then pick the option you like. The extra cost for each selection will show in a bracket beside it.
N.B. The gas column must always be chrome plated because that is the only finish that is hard enough to resist the constant rubbing movement on an adjustable stool. The factory default is to supply Mirror Chrome Gas Columns. (Except for the Black Chrome Base which has a black chrome gas column.) However, with the Black and Charcoal finishes, we consider that the gas column should be the Black chrome finish, because it blends better. This is available as an optional extra.
We recommend the Bases with Brushed Steel or the EPC finishes because those finishes hide dust and scratches better.
The mirror chrome base cover plates act like a mirror lying flat on the ground, so they reflect everything above them - the underside of your breakfast bar, which may not be as attractive as the top with wires and brackets.
Also if a girl is wearing a short skirt (or a man is wearing a kilt ) then there can be a modesty issue. (I know, because I wear a kilt occasionally !!)
Explanation of Different uses
In our opinion, the Doris P bar stool is not suitable for use at a breakfast bar if you are planning to eat a meal with a knife and fork (as opposed to finger snacks or drinks). The reason for this is that when you are eating with a knife and fork, you want to be sitting very close to and almost above the plate. If the Doris P Bar Stool is placed at the suitable position for this, then the arms hit on the edge of the breakfast bar and stop it rotating. Hence you cannot get into or out of the bar stool.
If you want to use a Doris Stool at a breakfast bar, then the Doris S stool is the one to choose. You will see that the arms are cut back, which allows the stool to turn. There is a separate listing for Doris S Bar stools. Click the highlighted link to view the Doris S listing.
However the Doris P bar stool is fantastic for use at a drinks bar or for sitting back from a breakfast bar. It is ideal for use in commercial bars also.
Tested with Heavy Weights
Doris stools have been tested by applying a 200 kg (440 pounds - over 31 stone) weight to the seat 10 times. They passed this test. That does not mean that we would recommend a man weighing 31 stone should sit on the stool all day long. However the stools are very robust and they can hold a substantial weight.
